American Bankers Association Endorses Accurate Background Inc. for Pre-Employment Screening Services
Alliance Helps Banks Reduce Risk of Fraud and Customer Identity Theft

LAKE FOREST, Calif. and WASHINGTON, November 6, 2008 – The American Bankers Association has endorsed the pre-employment screening services offered by Accurate Background, Inc. as its exclusive solution for employment background screening.

The ABA and its affiliate, the Corporation for American Banking, conducted a thorough product review and analysis of Accurate Background's Pre-Employment Screening Solutions evaluating a wide range of factors including product and technology functionality, ease of use and integration, regulatory compliance, training, customer service and customer satisfaction.

The FDIC, under the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, requires specific hiring regulations for all FDIC-insured entities.  Based on requests from its members to provide programs to assist with these legal requirements and the continued increase to verify information regarding new hires, the ABA spent several months evaluating the best equipped background screening solution for their members.

Accurate Background offers a full suite of bank-specific Pre-Employment Screening Services through public records and government partnerships.  Services such as background checks, employment and education verification, certification validation and fingerprinting are designed to help financial institutions protect against potential liability and unexpected losses while maintaining compliance with federal, state and FDIC industry requirements.

In addition to the more traditional background screening services, Accurate Background has one of the largest digital fingerprinting networks available, allowing banks the nationwide flexibility and improved efficiency in collecting the necessary information for conducting an FBI criminal history search.   This network, in conjunction with the ABA's National Fingerprint Service, an authorized FBI channeling agency for FBI criminal history searches, gives financial institutions a unique, single-source answer to all of their background screening and fingerprinting needs.  "Accurate Background's use of the ABA National Fingerprint Service will ensure our members fast and accurate results on criminal history searches of the FBI criminal history information file, containing over 42 million criminal history records," says C. Diane Poole, ABA senior vice president of data management and policy development.

"Through our dedication and commitment to our financial customers we have maintained longstanding partnerships and, in the process, gained extensive experience in the financial industry," says Dave Dickerson, president of Accurate Background. "This unique understanding guides our development of tools and services specific to the financial industry, allowing us to better help banks protect their workplace, employees and customers.

"Through this relationship, ABA members will have the opportunity to work with a company that has both knowledge of the industry and deep experience in personnel screening management," said John Wolff, president of Corporation for American Banking.  "Accurate Background's comprehensive turnkey solution, along with ABA's National Fingerprint Service, has the capability to offer all financial institutions convenience and reliability in fulfilling this critical security responsibility."

The American Bankers Association is proud to serve as an FBI-approved channeling agent for all eligible organizations submitting applicant fingerprints as part of their criminal history screening.  To learn more about the ABA National FBI Fingerprint Service, visit /Products/fingerprinting.htm.
