AMERICAN BANKERS MUTUAL INSURANCE DISTRIBUTES $4 MILLION TO ABA MEMBER BANKS Total Distribution Tops $75.5 Million Since 1991
WASHINGTON – The American Bankers Association today announced that the reinsurer of its sponsored insurance program, American Bankers Mutual Insurance, Ltd., will distribute $4 million in underwriting profits to member banks insured through ABA Insurance Services.
American Bankers Mutual Insurance, Ltd. has declared $75.5 million in distributions to eligible member banks since 1991. Banks that are insureds of the program and ABA members are automatically members of this company. The program offers directors & officers liability, financial institution bond, Internet banking liability, employment practices liability and other related insurance products to community banks. "At a time when bankers are especially concerned about their personal liability, ABA is pleased to continue offering our ABA Insurance Services program as a source of stable and reliable Bond and D&O insurance for community banks," said Edward L. Yingling, ABA president and CEO. "Designed and directed by bankers, ABA Insurance Services continues to identify and implement enhanced coverages that address the changing needs of our members."
