Meet the ABA Education Foundation Staff

Laura Fisher, Director
E-mail: lfisher@aba.com

Laura comes to the Foundation with a strong background in public relations and an interest in public policy issues.  She believes that financial education and not more regulation is the key to protecting – and empowering -- consumers.  Many banks across the country are working hard to increase financial literacy, and Laura believes that it's the Foundation's mission to promote those activities with lawmakers, regulators and the general public.

Kathryn Kelly, Associate Director
E-mail: kkelly@aba.com

Kathryn works with the Foundation's two annual events, National Teach Children to Save Day and Get Smart About Credit Day and manages the Get Smart About Credit eLearning program. She works closely with state bankers associations to advance financial education. She also helps banks create comprehensive education programs using customized sets of programs and materials, lectures extensively on financial literacy issues, and conducts banker training sessions at the state level. Kathryn represents the banking industry on the national board of the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy.

Marquita Powell, PR Program Manager
E-mail: mpowell@aba.com

With a master's degree in communications and a background in public relations, Marquita has a passion for educating the next generation of American consumers.  She joined the Foundation to help bankers teach the importance of financial responsibility.  As the primary media contact, Marquita fields inquiries from reporters and composes press materials to publicize the Foundation's programs.

Erin Scheithe, Senior Program Manager
E-mail: escheith@aba.com

Erin works on many aspects of the Foundation's national programs and coordinates teaching events with members of Congress and local bankers. She writes the Money Talks newsletter series, contributes articles to The Spirit of Banking, updates the ABA Education Foundation Web site and works with banks to develop financial education programs.  Because she holds a master's degree in educational psychology, she especially enjoys visiting schools and witnessing financial education in action.

ABA Staff Who Support the Foundation
We could not accomplish all that we do without the support of the Communications staff of the American Bankers Association, especially
