Teach Children to Save ABA Education Foundation
Teach Children to Save For 13 years the Teach Children to Save program has partnered banks with student for lessons on the importance of saving. This year the Teach Children to Save sponsor, ABA Education Foundation, initiated the Million Child Challenge and called on banks to reach 1 million young people with Teach Children to Save lessons.
The Savers' Pledge The Savers' Pledge symbolizes your promise to save, open or contribute to your savings account, focus on needs instead of wants and to encourage your friends to save. Printing then signing the Savers' Pledge is a physical reminder of your commitment to become a saver. Take the Savers' Pledge.
Million Child Challenge This year the ABA Education Foundation called on banks to accept the Million Child Challenge and reach 1 million students with savings lesson in 2009. Reaching this goal would double last year's impact when bankers taught 540,000 students. Teach Children to Save Day, observed on April 21, will mark the official launch of the Million Child Challenge.
The banks' role Banks are joining in to spread the savings message at schools throughout the country. You can check our list of banks to see if a banker near you is giving a lesson. If not, contact your local bank and ask them to join the Million Child Challenge by giving a Teach Children to Save lesson. Direct them to call 1-800-BANKERS for more information.
